GLOBAL risk solutions and management firm, Diaspora Insurance, is one of the key partners for this year’s UK-Zimbabwe Business Expo set for Birmingham in the first week of October.
The Expo represents a significant milestone in the economic relationship between Zimbabwe and its diaspora community which remits more than US$1 billion back home annually.
Diaspora Insurance said, as a company serving Africa’s diaspora and expatriate communities across the world, supporting the Expo was a no brainer.
“Diaspora Insurance is proud to be a sponsor of the upcoming UK-Zimbabwe Business Expo,” CEO Jeff Madzingo said.
“As a company committed to supporting the diaspora community, we believe in the importance of building bridges between home countries and their expatriate communities.
Transnationality should never equal exclusion or disenfranchisement.
He added, “Our team will be at the event engaging with attendees, showcasing our innovative and unique products and services as well sharing our experiences working with diaspora communities from the 19 African nationalities we now cover.”
A representative of organisers Zimbabweans in Diaspora Organisation (ZIDO) commended the Diaspora Insurance partnership saying, “These alliances are emblematic of a shared vision for driving investment and unlocking the latent potential of Zimbabwe’s provinces.
“Such collaborations provide the vital framework for fostering sustainable economic growth, particularly by connecting our diaspora and investors with invaluable opportunities back home.”
Meanwhile, keynote speakers at the event include Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA) chairman, Busisa Moyo, who also chairs the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) board.
Ministers of state for Masvingo, Manicaland, Mashonaland Central and Matabeleland North will also be on hand to showcase opportunities from their respective provinces.
Giving an update on preparations for the Expo, ZIDO spokesperson Farai Muvuti said, “our preparations have been meticulous, and we are now poised to welcome delegates to an exceptional event.”
He added, “The ‘Meet the Provinces’ initiative will offer direct engagement with provincial leadership, affording unique insights into areas ripe for investment, from agriculture and mining to land development.
“It is an extraordinary opportunity to forge meaningful connections and to harness the wealth of untapped potential Zimbabwe offers.”
